Best Hotels Near Lumen Field for a Seahawks Game

Seattle might be one of the easiest NFL cities to build an entire weekend around a game.

Lumen Field sits immediately south of downtown beside Pioneer Square, with hotels, restaurants, light rail and King Street Station all nearby. You can fly into Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, take Link light rail into the city and potentially spend the entire weekend without renting a car.

That’s especially useful this October. The Seahawks host the Chargers on October 4, the 49ers on October 11 and the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football on October 25.

For a first Seahawks trip, we’d prioritize a hotel you can walk to after the game.

Here are the options we’d check first.

Embassy Suites Seattle Downtown Pioneer Square: Best Overall Hotel Near Lumen Field

For a football-focused weekend, Embassy Suites is difficult to beat.

The hotel sits at the corner of King Street and Stadium Place in Pioneer Square, just 0.1 mile from Lumen Field. T-Mobile Park is about half a mile away, while the Seattle Aquarium and Great Wheel are roughly 0.9 mile from the property.

That location solves the biggest game-day problem before the weekend even begins.

You don’t need to drive toward the stadium. You don’t need to wait for a postgame rideshare. When the game ends, you simply walk back to the hotel.

The suite format also makes this especially appealing for families and groups traveling together.

Best for: First-time Seahawks visitors, families and groups prioritizing stadium proximity.

Silver Cloud Hotel Seattle – Stadium: Best for Being Steps From the Stadium

Silver Cloud Hotel Seattle – Stadium is another property we’d check immediately.

The hotel is adjacent to Lumen Field and directly across from T-Mobile Park. Pioneer Square’s restaurants, shops and galleries are within walking distance, while downtown Seattle and the waterfront are nearby.

For a trip almost entirely centered around football, that location is hard to improve.

There’s also a useful airport advantage: Stadium Station is about 1.5 blocks from the hotel, and Link light rail connects it with Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

That means an out-of-town fan could theoretically land at SEA, take the train to the stadium neighborhood and never need a rental car.

Best for: Football-first trips and travelers who want the shortest possible game-day commute.

Populus Seattle: Best New Hotel Near Lumen Field

Populus Seattle is a particularly interesting option for travelers who want a newer hotel without sacrificing stadium proximity.

The hotel is in Pioneer Square and lists Lumen Field just 0.2 miles away, approximately a three-minute walk. T-Mobile Park is about half a mile away.

That puts you directly in the stadium neighborhood while still giving you access to historic Pioneer Square and the rest of downtown.

For a couples trip where we’d rather stay somewhere more design-focused than a conventional chain hotel, this would be high on our list.

Best for: Couples, design-focused travelers and weekend trips built around Lumen Field.

citizenM Seattle Pioneer Square: Best for a Modern, Compact Stay

citizenM Seattle Pioneer Square gives you another way to stay close without sleeping directly beside the stadium.

The hotel is at 60 Yesler Way, with Lumen Field approximately 0.6 miles away. It’s also close to the Seattle waterfront and Pioneer Square.

The tradeoff is room size.

citizenM’s rooms are intentionally compact, so this isn’t necessarily our first choice for a family hauling multiple suitcases.

For a couple or solo traveler coming to Seattle for a game and spending most of the weekend outside the room, the location makes much more sense.

Best for: Couples, solo travelers and short football weekends.

Lotte Hotel Seattle: Best Luxury Option

If you’re turning the Seahawks game into an upscale Seattle weekend, Lotte Hotel Seattle is our luxury pick.

The hotel is downtown at 809 5th Avenue and lists Lumen Field approximately 0.8 mile away, about a 16-minute walk. Smith Tower is about 0.4 mile away, while Pioneer Square and other downtown attractions are also nearby.

This isn’t as convenient as Embassy Suites or Silver Cloud if your only goal is football.

But that’s not really the point.

We’d choose Lotte when the game is one piece of a larger couples weekend involving the waterfront, Pike Place Market, restaurants and downtown Seattle.

Best for: Couples, luxury travelers and special-occasion football trips.

Should You Stay in Pioneer Square or Downtown Seattle?

For a first Seahawks game, we’d choose Pioneer Square.

The reason is simple: you can walk.

Lumen Field is immediately beside the neighborhood, and several of the best hotel options are less than a mile from the gates.

Downtown becomes more appealing if you’re staying three or four nights and want the football game to be only one part of the trip.

Even then, you don’t necessarily need to drive.

Link light rail serves the stadium area through Stadium and International District/Chinatown stations, while more than 15 daily King County Metro routes stop within three blocks of Lumen Field.

Seattle is one NFL destination where we’d happily skip the rental car.

Can You Take Light Rail From Sea-Tac Airport to Lumen Field?

Yes, and it’s one of the best reasons to consider Seattle for a fly-in football weekend.

Link light rail connects Seattle-Tacoma International Airport with the stadium area.

Lumen Field lists Stadium and International District/Chinatown as its two nearby Link stations.

Silver Cloud Hotel also specifically notes that Stadium Station is roughly 1.5 blocks from the hotel.

Our ideal setup would be simple:

Fly into SEA on Friday or Saturday.

Take Link into Seattle.

Check into a Pioneer Square hotel.

Walk to the game.

Take transit or walk around downtown for the rest of the weekend.

Then take Link back to the airport.

That’s about as painless as an NFL destination trip gets.

Should You Drive to a Seahawks Game?

We wouldn’t unless there were a specific reason.

Lumen Field has two connected parking areas—the stadium garage and North Lot—but parking is limited. On Seahawks game days, many spaces are already allocated to season-ticket holders.

The stadium itself encourages fans to consider public transportation.

There’s another important detail for visitors expecting a traditional NFL parking-lot experience:

Tailgating is not allowed in Lumen Field’s on-site parking lots.

Seattle’s pregame experience is therefore different from destinations such as Buffalo or Green Bay.

Instead of building the day around a giant parking-lot tailgate, we’d stay centrally and make Pioneer Square part of the pregame.

What Should You Do Before a Seahawks Game?

Start in Pioneer Square.

This is Seattle’s oldest neighborhood, and its historic brick buildings, restaurants and bars make it a natural gathering area before walking south toward Lumen Field.

Because the stadium is integrated into the city rather than isolated behind acres of parking, the football weekend can blend naturally with sightseeing.

If you’re arriving Saturday, spend part of the day around Pike Place Market and the waterfront.

Then make Sunday about football.

Head toward Pioneer Square several hours before kickoff, eat nearby and walk to the stadium rather than timing your arrival around traffic.

Which 2026 Seahawks Home Game Should You Travel For?

Seattle has three particularly interesting home games coming up in October.

The Seahawks host the Los Angeles Chargers on October 4 and the San Francisco 49ers on October 11, both at 1:25 p.m. Pacific.

Then comes the standout destination weekend:

Kansas City at Seattle on October 25 at 5:20 p.m. Pacific on Sunday Night Football.

If we were choosing one October Seahawks trip, that’s the game.

A Sunday night kickoff gives you Friday evening, all day Saturday and much of Sunday to explore Seattle before heading to Lumen Field.

Later in the season, Seattle also hosts Dallas on December 7 and has a Christmas Day home game on December 25.

How Early Should You Book a Hotel Near Lumen Field?

For an ordinary game, we’d start looking as soon as the trip is reasonably firm.

For the 49ers, Chiefs, Cowboys or Christmas game, we’d move faster.

The advantage of Seattle is that there are many hotels throughout downtown.

The disadvantage is that only a smaller subset give you the genuinely easy walk back from Lumen Field.

Those are the rooms we’d prioritize.

Even if a downtown hotel farther north saves money, compare that savings with the convenience of leaving a night game and being back in your room within minutes.

What Else Should You Do on a Seahawks Weekend?

This is where Seattle separates itself from many NFL destinations.

You don’t need to invent things to do between arrival and kickoff.

Pike Place Market, the Seattle waterfront, Seattle Aquarium and downtown are all close enough to combine with a stadium-area stay.

You could also take a ferry from Colman Dock, which Lumen Field notes is less than a mile from the stadium. Ferries serve destinations including Bainbridge Island and Bremerton.

For a three-night trip, we’d arrive Friday, spend Saturday exploring Seattle and give Sunday to the Seahawks.

No rental car required.

For the easiest possible Seahawks weekend, Embassy Suites Seattle Downtown Pioneer Square is our first choice.

At roughly 0.1 mile from Lumen Field, it’s hard to beat for travelers who want to walk to and from the game.

Silver Cloud Hotel Seattle – Stadium is equally compelling for a football-first trip, while Populus Seattle offers another extremely close option with a more design-forward feel.

For a compact modern stay, look at citizenM Seattle Pioneer Square.

And if the game is part of a more luxurious couples weekend, Lotte Hotel Seattle gives you a stronger downtown experience while remaining within walking distance of Lumen Field.

More than anything, we’d take advantage of what Seattle does unusually well:

Fly in.

Take the train.

Stay downtown.

Walk to football.

And spend the money you saved on a rental car somewhere much more interesting.
