Best Hotels Near Lambeau Field in Green Bay

A Packers weekend in Green Bay is one football trip where we’d pay extra attention to hotel location.

Lambeau Field isn’t sitting in the middle of a huge downtown. It’s surrounded by Green Bay neighborhoods and a growing Stadium District, which means staying within walking distance can completely change your game-day experience.

That’s particularly important this season. After opening with two road games and hosting Atlanta on September 24, Green Bay has three more home games packed into an 18-day stretch in October: Chicago on October 11, Dallas on October 18 and Carolina on October 29.

If you’re planning one of those weekends—or a future pilgrimage to Lambeau—these are the hotels we’d check first.

Lodge Kohler: Best Overall Hotel Near Lambeau Field

If budget isn’t the first concern, Lodge Kohler is our top choice.

The hotel sits in the heart of Titletown just 100 yards from Lambeau Field. It has upscale rooms and suites, a full-service spa, indoor pool and a top-floor restaurant overlooking the stadium.

That location is almost impossible to improve.

You can spend the day around Titletown, walk to the game and return to the hotel without thinking about parking or postgame traffic.

Some suites even face Lambeau Field, while the Terrace Suites have private outdoor space and are within 100 yards of a stadium seat.

There is a catch: game weekends are expensive. Lodge Kohler currently requires at least a two-night stay for home games, with selected matchups requiring three nights.

Best for: Bucket-list Packers trips, couples and travelers prioritizing location.

Legacy Hotel Green Bay: Best Boutique Alternative

Legacy Hotel gives Lodge Kohler serious competition for football travelers.

The all-suite boutique hotel sits one block from Lambeau Field in the Stadium District, with Titletown, Resch Center and Resch Expo nearby.

Inside are several dining and drinking options, including a rooftop gastropub, lobby bar, restaurant and coffee shop, plus a spa and fitness studio.

For us, the biggest selling point is still being able to walk out of the hotel and immediately feel like you’re in the middle of Packers weekend.

Legacy currently requires multiple-night reservations on Packers home-game weekends, so factor that into the total trip cost.

Best for: Couples, friends’ trips and travelers who want a walkable upscale stay.

My Place Hotel Green Bay: Best for a More Practical Stay

My Place Hotel is a useful alternative if you’re more interested in convenience than luxury.

The property is on Holmgren Way and lists Lambeau Field approximately 0.8 miles away. Rooms include full kitchens, and the hotel also has on-site laundry.

That setup makes sense for a longer football trip or anyone trying to avoid eating every meal out.

You’re still close to the Stadium District without paying specifically for a luxury resort experience.

Best for: Longer stays and value-conscious football travelers.

Spark by Hilton Green Bay: Best for Free Breakfast and Parking

Spark by Hilton sits about two miles from Lambeau Field.

The hotel includes complimentary breakfast and free parking, along with an indoor pool and hot tub. Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport is about five miles away.

At two miles, we wouldn’t automatically plan on walking both ways—especially during a freezing December night game.

But it’s close enough that you’re firmly in the Lambeau area while potentially avoiding the premium charged by the hotels immediately beside the stadium.

Best for: Families and travelers looking for a more budget-friendly option.

Hampton Inn Green Bay Downtown: Best for Staying Downtown

Not every Packers fan needs to sleep beside the stadium.

Hampton Inn Green Bay Downtown sits on Main Street beside the Fox River, close to downtown restaurants, entertainment and the KI Convention Center. Lambeau Field is within three miles.

The hotel also includes free hot breakfast and an indoor pool.

We’d choose this type of location when we want Friday and Saturday night to feel more like a Green Bay city weekend rather than spending the entire trip inside the Stadium District.

The transportation plan just becomes more important.

Best for: Travelers who want downtown restaurants and riverfront access.

Should You Stay Near Lambeau Field or Downtown Green Bay?

For a first Packers game, we’d stay near Lambeau if the price works.

There are few NFL trips where being near the stadium adds this much to the experience.

Titletown sits beside Lambeau Field, and the Stadium District contains restaurants, bars, hotels and game-day activity within a compact area.

You can arrive the day before the game, explore the Packers Hall of Fame, see the stadium and spend game day almost entirely on foot.

Downtown makes more sense if stadium-area rooms are extremely expensive or if you’re staying several nights and want a broader Green Bay trip.

Fortunately, downtown doesn’t mean you’re stranded on game day.

How Do You Get to Lambeau Field Without Driving?

Green Bay’s game-day transportation setup makes staying farther from the stadium much easier.

Green Bay Metro and the Packers offer four free game-day bus routes for home games. Service begins five hours before kickoff and continues for roughly three hours after the game, with buses departing Lambeau about every 30 minutes after the game.

That’s a major reason we’d consider a downtown hotel instead of automatically renting a car or paying for stadium-area lodging.

Rideshare is another option, but the Packers designate the corner of Mike McCarthy Way and Holmgren Way as the postgame meeting location.

Whatever option you choose, decide before game day.

What About Parking at Lambeau Field?

Don’t arrive expecting to purchase a space in one of the main stadium lots.

The Packers say all parking spaces in the lots surrounding Lambeau Field are sold to season parking-pass holders. Individual-game parking is available through nearby lots, and free street parking can also be found on many residential streets within walking distance.

That creates one of Green Bay’s most distinctive football traditions: homeowners and local businesses offering parking around the neighborhoods surrounding Lambeau.

It’s part of the experience, but for a first visit we’d still rather walk from the hotel or use game-day transit than spend the morning searching for parking.

What Should You Do Before a Packers Game?

Give yourself hours, not minutes.

Lambeau is worth visiting even without a game ticket.

The Packers Hall of Fame and stadium tours make it easy to turn arrival day into part of the football trip, while Titletown gives visitors another area to explore beside the stadium.

On game days, the atmosphere starts well before kickoff.

The Packers’ Johnsonville Tailgate Village traditionally operates outside the stadium with food, drinks and live entertainment, while Titletown also hosts pregame festivities.

This is not the football trip where we’d recommend spending Sunday morning sightseeing somewhere else and showing up right before kickoff.

You’re going to Lambeau.

Make Lambeau the day.

How Early Should You Book a Lambeau Field Hotel?

As soon as you know you’re going.

Green Bay’s population and hotel inventory are much smaller than what you’ll find around NFL stadiums in cities like Atlanta, Dallas or Los Angeles.

And the most desirable properties have an obvious advantage: they’re practically next door to the stadium.

For Bears, Cowboys, Vikings or late-season games, we’d rather reserve early than gamble on close-in hotel inventory.

For a bucket-list Packers trip, Lodge Kohler is our first choice. It’s essentially everything we’d want from a Lambeau hotel: extremely close, upscale and immersed in Titletown.

Legacy Hotel is another excellent walkable option with a more boutique feel.

For a more practical stay, we’d compare My Place Hotel and Spark by Hilton, while Hampton Inn Green Bay Downtown makes sense for travelers who want more of downtown Green Bay in the itinerary.

But if this is your first trip to Lambeau, we’d make one thing the priority:

Stay close enough that game day feels like a football pilgrimage rather than a transportation problem.

Walk through the neighborhood.

Tailgate.

Explore Titletown.

Get inside early.

And give yourself enough time to understand why a football stadium in a small Wisconsin city became one of America’s great sports destinations.
